Hi Birders,
Kiran Krishna enquired about the possiblity of Red Wattlebirds being at the Sydney Harbourside suburb of Manly. The answer is yes! Both Red Wattlebirds and Little Wattlebirds are common inhabitants of the Manly gardens. They are of course much more common in the adjoining Sydney Harbour National Park which takes in the harbour headlands of North Head, Dobroyd Head, Middle Head, Ashton Park, Bradleys Head, Neilsen Park and South Head. A good reference for Sydney Harbour birds is "The Birds of Sydney Harbour National Park" (1986 Aust. Birds  20, 65-81), published by the NSW Field Ornithologists Club (available from the Secretary P.O. Box Q277 QVB post Office Sydney NSW 1230) or the book The Birds of Sydney 1991 by E.S. Hoskin & published by Surrey Beatty & Sons.
