GPS accuracy

Around the Gold Coast area, I often lock onto 7 or 8 satellites and expect
an accuracy of less than 8 metres.

My GPS is also an E-trex which is the smallest, cheapest GPS available and,
in general, has the fewest features.  What it does not have and I would
definitely like is the ability to enter a lat and long and then show how to
reach that point.
