Hi John
Whilst travelling to Birdsville takes you through some very dry and barren
countryside, Birdsville is actually located on a
river, so (as long as there haven't been huge rains putting the whole of
Birdsville township underwater), you'll get some
great birding along the river banks, mainly down towards where the road crosses
the river and behind the camping area/caravan
park.
You'll see that the "other end" of town is mainly the housing part and pretty
barren.
Also check out the airport, which is right next to the pub.
Pub has the best BBQ sausages. Yum!
Enjoy
Cheers and Happy Times with Nature

Subject: RFI birding around Birdsville
It may be possible for me to go to on a work trip to Birdsville, but
unfortunately it would be flying in flying out, no transport, and birding
only in early morning and possbly evening.
Is there any native vegetation, or any birdy spots, within, say, 1km of the
Pub at Birdsville?
