A little post script to my previous message. Alex talks about a "four hour train trip from anywhere". This may be so if Victoria is the only place that birders live. There are, however, many birders who live elsewhere in Australia. Some of us even have running water and inside plumbing these days. This reminds me of the time a Sydney television station (which shall remain nameless) presented a news item about some event in FAR WESTERN New South Wales - near Penrith!!! (Those not familiar with Penrith, check your atlas.)
