Hi everyone On returning from east Gippsland on Friday I stopped for lunch at Lake Guyatt, Sale wetlands [just off the highway behand the front lake] and saw what appeared to be 2 wandering whistling ducks....together with a number of other ducks [chestnut teal, hardheads, grey teal]. The ducks were quite close to the picnic area and easy to identify. Has anyone seen these birds and know of their origins? This wetland had been drying for two years with many snipe and crakes at this time of the year but at the moment it has plenty of water. The snipe have moved to the nearby drains where greenfinch and other species are common.
