Hi folks,

This week I purchased a new pair of Hiking boots. I wore them for the first
time out of doors today and I've discovered they are too small. They are a
pair of Aku Tiaga, size 8. Gotex-lined, Vibram sole. They are an excellent
boot if anyone would like to buy them. I'll like $250.00 for them ( I paid
$269.00). I can be contacted on:

The link below show some info about them.

I've also done a bit of birding in recent days. Nothing too much out of the
ordinary but I would like to report a very close sighting of a Collared
Sparrowhawk in my front garden. It was fantastic to watch from the very
close distance of about 10 metres. It landed on a rock I have strategically
located near a couple of bird baths that I can see from my lounge chair. It
was investigating the Grevillia in that section of the garden, possibly
checking out the New Holland honeyeaters or Wattlebirds that are there
almost constantly. I watched it for about 2 minutes before it flew off.
Fantastic!

A friend and I also ventured to the Peter Francis Points Arboretum in
Coleraine. We didn't see a large number of birds but it was a pleasant way
to spend an hour or so. The list is below:

New Holland Honeyeater
Red Wattlebird
Little Wattlebird
White-Naped Honeyeater
White-plumed Honeyeater
Silvereye
Red-Browed finch
Grey Shrike thrush
Superb Fairy Wren
Rufous Whistler
Magpie
Mudlark
Purple-crowned Lorikeet
Yellow-rumped thornbill
Australian Raven
European Goldfinch
Common Blackbird

Cheers,
