emus, elevation & fire

Gooday Alex and birding-ausers,
Over the last month or so I have had the following sightings of Emu in the Bowen region.
Mount Buckley siding 15k SW of Bowen 1 with 12 chicks.
Binbee 1
Binbee, Mount Pleasant Station  50k SW of Bowen
3
Havilah Station 105k SW of Bowen 1 with 8 chicks.
Newlands Mine anti pollution dam 1
 
The closest I have seen this bird to Bowen would be the Mount Buckley area. I'm unaware of any historical data for this area.
