Hi to all,
Those birding-aussers who may be in the area are most welcome
to attend as below.

>From September 15th to November 17th Broome Bird Observatory and Roebuck Bay
will be home to a team of Australian and International bird researchers who
will be continuing the long term studies into the waders of North West
Australia. These birds spend their breeding season in the high Arctic and
their non-breeding and immature lives at Roebuck Bay.

During the researchers stay, two one-day symposiums will be held. These will
involve a range of interesting and easily understood slide presentations on
various aspects of migratory birds and their coastal habitats.

The visiting researchers are keen to talk to local people to educate
themselves on local knowledge of the Bay and to present back to the
community information gathered over the years here at Broome and other areas
of the world relevant to the fantastically important wetland we have right
on our doorstep here in Broome.

The cost is $20 per head. This includes all the days' presentations, tea,
coffee and biscuits and buffet meal supplied by Town Beach Café.

The first symposium will be held on Tuesday next 25th September at Lotteries
House starting at 1PM and finishing at 9PM.

The second is scheduled for Sunday 28th October at Broome Primary School
starting at 9AM and finishing at 5PM.

Please contact
Chris Hassell 08 9192 5886 for bookings and further information.

These days are suitable for anyone who works, studies or has an interest in
the natural environment.
