What a cracker of a weekend
it was in the Capertee Valley (NSW).
First thing I noticed on arrival
was a increase in the number of bees.
Second was the arrival
of the Rainbow Bee Eaters.
Funny about that.
A rolling chirring flock
of 15 - 20 seemed to be around
all day.
Not too much time for birding
(there's a bathroom to be built)
Regents were a bit thin on the ground
but happy to note
the both our resident raptors
Little Eagle & Brown falcon
are sitting on their respective nests.
(about 150 metres apart)
(Hot water and fresh towels
will soon be called for)
Interesting to note
the Brown Falcon nest is built
into the top of a mistletoe clump,
a species not listed as doing this
in the article in the latest Wingspan.
