A VicGroup campout will take place in the Whipstick State Park, Bendigo
on the weekend of the 22-23 September 2001.
Camping will be at the Shadbolt Picnic Area. This area has some
wonderful Box-Ironbark forest and should produce some good birding.
Possibilities include Spotted Nightjar, Crested Bellbird and
Purple-gaped Honeyeater. This is also a very historic area with much
evidence of past goldmining. Activities will include some good walks,
spotlighting and plenty of atlassing.
