G'day birders, Sorry to bore those that are tired of hearing about the Northern Shoveler at Werribee, but this is just a quick note to let others know that it was observed yesterday (Monday 3rd) by myself and Tom and Pauline Fletcher. The bird was not seen on Lake Borrie as per other observations, but on the lake immediately to the south-west. We watched it for at least half an hour from around 12.30 pm in perfect conditions - what a beautiful duck! Also 'spotted' several Freckled Ducks and Whiskered Tern, and I was happy to see Glossy Ibis after many years of not seeing them. Thanks to Maarten Hulzebosch for keeping me posted on the situation at Werribee. Cheers, Chris Tzaros Birding-Aus is on the Web at www.shc.melb.catholic.edu.au/home/birding/index.html To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message "unsubscribe birding-aus" (no quotes, no Subject line) to |
