My wife and I were having a picnic lunch recently in the parklands next to the Adelaide Botanic Gardens. As usual, the Noisy Miners came hopping around our feet looking for handouts and crumbs. the Crested Pigeons also came out in force, with up to a dozen or so within a few metres of us.

As we were admiring their beautiful colours in the sunshine, one of the males began a courtship display only a metre in front of us. It was really spectacular to see the tail fanned out and all the colours so close up!
