Hi everybody -

The message below from Peter Mitchell and Mick Bramwell for your information.

Cheers,
Hugo
-------------------------------

Wanted: people to do surveys of Eastern Bristlebirds in eastern Victoria.

On 13-16 September, we are conducting surveys of Bristlebirds on Howe Flat
east of Mallacoota. We are seeking expressions of interest from anyone who
would be interested in coming for some or all of that time. The aim is to
train people in the art of surveying these birds so that they can carry out
surveys at other places, and in particular to follow up on any reported
sightings of Bristlebirds closer to Melbourne.

Accomodation (hut - basic) and food (tasty and plentiful) will be supplied,
as will transport from Mallacoota township. Sleeping bags and suitable
clothing for walking in the scrub are needed. Parts of the flat are under
water, so you may need to wade. Ticks can be a another nuisance. But
don't let these minor inconveniences deter you.

If you are interested, contact Peter Mitchell on (03) 5155 4863 (AH),
email: <>

or Mick Bramwell at DNRE on (03) 5152 0400 (BH), email:
<>

We look forward to hearing from you.

Peter Mitchell and Mick Bramwell
