Hi there,
I found a pink-eared duck in the Engine Pond at Sydney airport this afternoon, in amongst the usual waterbird species to be found on Sydney city lakes. Poor thing was forced to do its swimming circles on its own.
This was the 1st time ever that I've stopped to check out this pond, so I can't say how long the pink-eared duck has been around.
The Engine Pond, sandwiched between Southern Cross Dve and Ross Smith Av.,  is accessed from a little picnic ground behind the Environmental Studies centre (directly opp. the heliport) - on the road to the longterm carpark.
Regards
Bruce Roubin
