G'day All,
I read with much interest this week the healthy debate
raised on to feed or not to feed? it's still going on
in a very sensible fashion as I type this email.
Most interesting.
I did see raised the item on "psittacosis" could I ask
"Carla Jackett" did she refer to psittacosis in
humans?
or in birds? in humans this can now be easily cured by
antibiotics? I just hope Carla is aware of this? and
most sincerely I hope she has not contracted this
wretched problem.
My UK friends are telling me that some success is
being achieved by marginally raising the calcium and
vitamin C levels? in rehabbing birds, it's not a quick
fix though. I just wish a lot more study was carried
out on this problem of psittacosis? with a view to
helping those out that pollenate our trees and shrubs
for us, where in other lands this task is performed by
insects and bee's, here in Oz it's quite staggering to
see how many birds perform the task.
Anyways back to the feeding issue, we all agree so
far, that to keep the food natural? what the bird
would find
if man was NOT here would be best eh? is this the
number one mode of thought?
