Hi Netters and Russell, It may pay you to check with the state govt in regards the discharge of firearms. In the 1950s when I had friends who went shooting I believe there was a law requiring the discharge of firearms a certain distance from a city. I think the distance from Sydney was 100 miles. This distance if it applied in Melbourne would probably cover Geelong from Melbourne and sort the problem. I may be wrong but it is worth a try.
