Hi all,

We finished the last of our monthly surveys of a small section of the Olympic Site last Saturday 7th July.

Highlights included a Spotless Crake and Buff-banded Rail seen from the boardwalk at the Northern Water Feature (near the Superdome), but no sign of the Spotted Crake we saw here last month.  A Shining Bronze-cuckoo (race plagosus) added further interest.

Nearby on Kronos Hill were good numbers of White-plumed, Yellow-faced and White-naped Honeyeaters, feeding in flowering eucalypts.
The Eastern Water Quality Control Pond was quiet, but 4 Hardhead were noted.

Regards,

David and Sofia
