Just a follow up about an information source on roadside conservation issues
from a query last week to the list.

The following is from the Victorian Country Fire Authority (CFA) web site and
gives access to an electronic publication.

Abstract
Traditionally, roadsides have been used extensively for the implementation of
fire prevention programs. With changes
in land and resource management and a shift to risk based emergency management,
there is a need to review
fire prevention on roadsides to keep pace with community expectations and ensure
 a consistent approach to fire
management. This document provides guidelines for the management of these areas.

                              The web address is:
                     http://www.cfa.vic.gov.au/cfa_main.htm

                      Look under publications - Guidelines

I haven't viewed the document, but it addresses conservation of roadsides.
