*** Could be, but it's odd Michael. In Goonoo there are around 40 species of
wattle, and some are flowering/seeding pretty much all year round. We can't
see why the bronzewings need to leave Goonoo (Bird Heaven).
Incidentally, we have observed Common Bronzewings in Goonoo feeding an ants.
The dam rims often contain quite large ant nests and the bronzewings will
wander up and stand right on the nest, and er, suck up the ants. I don't
know if this is usual in other areas, although insects do form a part of
their diet. I have seen bronzewings eating ant-collected seeds from the top
of an antheap too.
