Subject: | Pied Butcherbird status in Wimmera? |

G'day all Can anyone with more experience with Wimmera birds comment on the status of Pied Butcherbirds. The Wimmera is western Victoria (Horsham, Warracknabeal, Little Desert etc.) I atlassed a block north of Horsham today that hadn't been done before. Mostly the block was treeless except for some roadsides and the Yariambiack Creek. I stopped at three places and was delighted to find a Pied Butcherbird at one. In Victoria, I've only seen these in the far north-west and in the Rutherglen district. Lovely birds - unfortunately this one didn't feel like a song.
