Good eye,
I just watched a nightjar just after sunset tonight (fronm 5 to 5.30pm), in its erratic and batlike feeding flight over a stand of casuarinas.
It had rounded wings and very prominent white wing patches - which I could see everytime I looked through my binoculars,
no spotlights. Has to be a Spotted Nightjar, hasn't it?
 - the only problem is that I was on the coast, at H1 wetlands at Cronulla Sydney!
Could it be a vagrant winter migrant?
Anyone else seen one east of the Divide?

Regards
