Greetings from Cape Town,

We have a item on our website called the SA 700 Club. As I'm sure some of
you will have guessed, this is a list of all the people (that we know of or
have information on) that have seen more than 700 species within the
Southern African subregion. The Southern African subregion is taken to be
that portion of land which lies south of the Cunene and Zambezi Rivers and
includes South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Southern Mozambique
as well as the territorial waters up to 200 nautical miles offshore.

This list is updated on a regular basis when people send us their revised
totals. We are currently doing a major update to this list and that is why
we are sending this note out. There are already a few overseas visitors who
appear on the list and, as there are probably very many of you who have been
to Southern Africa at some stage of your life, we thought we would just send
out a quick note asking if there are any of you out there who have seen more
than 700 species in Southern Africa. If you have, we would appreciate
hearing from you so that we could add your name and total to the list.

There is a Winzipped MS Excel format checklist of the Southern African bird
list under the "checklists" section on our website at
http://www.zestforbirds.co.za as well for those of you who want to do a
quick check to count your total.

Looking forward to hopefully hearing from some of you.

Kind Regards
Trevor and John
