Hi everyone,
The new field guide by MacKinnon and Phillips is a very welcome and long
overdue resource but unfortunately there are major faults with it -
descriptions, illustrations, distribution maps etc etc. If you own the book
and intend to use it, I highly recommend you obtain a copy of Pam
Rasmussen's book review in the last issue of the Oriental Bird Club
bulletin. I think it's the December 2000 edition, Vol. 32. If you can't
find it, drop me a line and I'll mail you a photocopy (I know it's
available at Birds Australia but don't know about other states).
regards,
Susan
>If such a reference exists, does anyone know where I might lay my hands on
one, particularly here in China. I am based in
>Beijing but can have someone purchase it for me in Shanghai if necessary.
Thanks in advance for any help Ray
