MANY thanks to all who turned up or supported us spiritually. I know there were at least 2 of us birding-aussers amongst the 100+ people at today's event. We got about a minute on the Channel 9 National news (including some helpful quotes from the Victorian minister for the environment). When things had got a bit quieter, an Australian Ibis and various seabirds took off from a reef - a Whistling Kite was passing over to wish us well, caught a thermal and headed off east. A male mistletoebird added a bit of colour.
