It looks like I'll have the chance to do some birding in the Adelaide
area
this winter. After conferences in Melbourne (Crustacea) and Bronte
village, Tasmania (Amphipoda) my colleague John Bradbury of Adelaide has
very kindly offered me a ride along the famous coastal road to Adelaide,
where I'll arrive ca 27 July, while my plane back to Tromsø and 70*N does
not leave before the 30th of July. John is willing to help me to get around
during these days, but being not a birder himself, he too agreed that maybe
Birding-aussers might come up with good ideas and advise.
I left this almost too late, as I'll be away from Tromsø (and from my
email) from Wednesday until ca 25 June, and leave for Melbourne on 2 July.
Any help you may be able to give will be most gratefully received. (John

will by now know that I am not exactly a power birder, more a general
naturalist and that common birds and what they do almost interests me more
than the chasing of rarities. But that is not to say that info on e.g.
roosting owls and such goodies would not be very welcome!!
I have been in Australia (mostly NSW and Qld) several times, but do not
know S Australia and its birds at all.
