Hi All, A quick comment here. Yesterday when I wrote of mangrove removal, it was with the knowledge of the legislative restrictions in place, but I forgot that not everyone knows this. Mangroves are protected species, and when you want to remove them, you have to go through an application process, the success of which might depend on how good your case is. As one correspondent noted, it can be helpful to compensate for mangrove removal by offering compensatory measures in nearby areas. Cheers, Jill Birding-Aus is on the Web at www.shc.melb.catholic.edu.au/home/birding/index.html To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message "unsubscribe birding-aus" (no quotes, no Subject line) to |
