Trying to respond to Shirley Cameron's query I've just had a
look at the Bird Observers Club website which has a list of
outing at:

http://www.birdobservers.org.au/calendar.htm

I don't really like to mention this to people who aren't
subscribing (or donating!) to BOCA but the latest issue of their
conservation mag - The Harrier - can also be read at the web
site.

PS and they are selling all sorts of things, but you can't see
if the book I edited is available ! (But you can actually buy
it through Birds Australia's offshoot
http://www.thebirdingshop.com/_books.htm!)
Birding-Aus is on the Web at
www.shc.melb.catholic.edu.au/home/birding/index.html
