Just sharing an extraordinary sight late yesterday when I opened the front door. I'd been watering the rockeries by the door, and the concrete was wet. At the foot of the front step were 2 pairs of gang-gangs, drinking from the ground by pressing their heads side-on to the ground and licking up water. I hasten to say that even though it has been dry here, we do provide an array of drinking water, including a back-yard pond! cheers Ian -- Ian Fraser & Margaret McJannett, Environment Tours; Vertego Environmental Wordsmithing GPO Box 3268, Canberra, ACT 2601 ph: 02 6249 1560 fax: 02 6247 3227 --- Birding-Aus is on the Web at www.shc.melb.catholic.edu.au/home/birding/index.html To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message "unsubscribe birding-aus" (no quotes, no Subject line) to |
