G'day viewers,
I too have been to see Sean Dooley's comedy festival show in Melbourne - and
enjoyed it so much that I will be trying to get along again before it finishes.
As well as 7pm Saturday night (21/4/01) mentioned by Karen, it's also on at that
time (same venue) tonight, tomorrow night and Sunday night (i.e. 19-22/4/01). I
can't recommend it highly enough.
If you ask me, it's like a great big twitch - certainly people will be talking
about it in those terms for years to come, e.g. "I haven't seen you since the
Dools' comedy festival show, or was it at the Port Fairy Fiordland?" The only
thing is, you know when this one is going to bugger off, so you will have
absolutely no excuse when someone grips you off in years to come!
What's more, when I saw it I took along about dozen non-birding friends
(including one infamous anti-twitcher), who all thoroughly understood and
enjoyed it (I guess there aren't (yet) enough birders out there to sustain a
show comprised entirely of obscure in-jokes) - and they're all still talking to
me, so not too many of the really embarrassing secrets are divulged. So it's
like a big twitch for birders and non-birders alike.
Now, perhaps I should say that although I share a vehicle with Dools during the
Twitchathon, I have no financial interest in the show.
So there's no excuse.
Cheers,
Paul Peake.
