Werribee Wagtales had an excellent walk along the Hovell's Creek Lineal Park
to Limeburners Bay. The weather in Victoria in autumn is superb and
Tuesday April 3rd was no exception. We saw many White-faced Herons, enjoyed
the calling of the Whistling Kites and delighted in the flocks of seagulls,
ibis and other birds who call the Tip 'home'. There were many White-fronted
chats, and Gold Finches too. Most of the cormorants were added to our list.
After Limeburners we went down to Avalon Beach. All our previous excursions
there had been marred by terrible weather. Corio Bay looked magic. In all
we saw 40 species. Red-necked Stints at Avalon were in breeding plumage.
A personal note I am booked to go on a birding trip from Berri April
30th - May 4th. Approx cost $500. If interested contact Shirley Cameron
or 03 97412997
