Dear all

This thread made me check my bird books to see which mention the
orange belly on some Turquoise Parrots and Blue-winged Parrots,
both of which might be confused with Orange-bellied Parrots.

>From my editions we get the following mentions of orange
bellies:

                     Blue-winged Turquoise

Morecambe No mention old either sex may
Simpson&Day (5) male may have male may have
Pizzey&Knight male may have old either sex may
Slater "other grass parrots show orange"
Schodde&Tidemann No mention No mention

I think Pizzey and Knight is the only one to say the orange
belly may not be visible on Orange-bellied Parrots.
