Hi Scott and all

Good to hear about sacrificial peanut crops for cockatoos in NQ
(north Queensland?), especially after what is recorded on the
Parrot Society web pages at
http://www.parrotsociety.org.au/articles/art_018.htm

I totally agree about the desirability of treating such issues
as community problems to be solved (resolved/dissolved.?) by
dialogue rather than as quasi-legal issues to be addressed
through adversarial (inevitably truth-hiding) social processes.

Today I was at the Victorian Parliament and there seemed to be
bi-partisan support for such approaches during the second
reading debates of Bills to provide carbon credits for
vegetation (an Australian - and world??? - first) and
"neighbourhood" environmental schemes.

Go Australia
