Re the recent "Floating roost" thread..
 
A couple of weeks ago, at a disused very deep local quarry, I noted an Australian Grebe which was support feeding 4 young.
 
But what was interesting, was what must have been their nest,  had been made on top of an untethered drifting floating wheel and tyre.
