I would have to agree. I would begin doubting some of my Greater Sand-Plover records if there is a race with a bill this "heavy." Will have a look at HANZAB tonight to see whether the large-billed races mentioned have been recorded in Australia.

The length and "weight" of the bill of the bird pictured would have to
belong to a Greater Sandplover.
