Hi all,

On a different topic, i distinctly remember back in around 1978 / 79
when i was 7 / 8 years old, on my school property ( Carrum Downs SDA
Primary School, Melb VIC), seeing on a few occasions that i can
remember, small flocks of
Zebra Finches - sometimes possibly up to 20-25.I would like to know of
any other records pertaining to this species in the Carrum Downs area at
that time, would it have been an aberration? are they still seen in any
quantity now? or is it a possibility
that they may have occurred in that area due to the fact of the
Treatment Plant nearby?. As i have been thinking about this lately and
because this is one of those instances that stays in ones subconscious
after all this time and not thinking of the possible significance, i am
very curious! Can anyone shed some light on this for me.

Cheers

Mark Kliene.
