Hi all, I was pleasantly surprised to see on Sunday a good selection of ducks: 1 x male Musk Duck 2 x Pink Eared Ducks 5 x Shovellers Hardheads, as well as the expected Grey & Chestnut Teals, Black Ducks and Wood Ducks. With all the water around I expected only the more common species. Other species: Black Swan Darter Little Pied, Little Black and Great Cormorants Great Egret Cattle Egret White Faced Heron Australian Little Grebe Welcome Swallow Little Grassbird (heard) Cisticola (heard) Australian Reed Warbler - numerous, with young Masked Lapwing Black Fronted Dotteral Black Winged Stilt -- John Reidy, Sydney Phone: 02 9871 4836 Fax: 02 9871 2616 Birding-Aus is on the Web at www.shc.melb.catholic.edu.au/home/birding/index.html To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message "unsubscribe birding-aus" (no quotes, no Subject line) to |
