Greetings birders et al. At Darwin sewage works today, in rather fowl (sic) weather: Little Ringed Plover (6 or 7) Garganey (1) Ruff (1) Barn Swallow (1) Yellow Wagtail (about 25) Little Curlew (1) All the above (except Ruff) are regular annual visitors but generally scarce (except Little Culew). The Little Curlew was interesting because it is unusual to have one 'oversummering' as it were, since they are normally only southward passage migrants. The rather severe weather at the moment may bring more interesting birds in, with luck. Keep birding & keep regular Niven Birding-Aus is on the Web at www.shc.melb.catholic.edu.au/home/birding/index.html To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message "unsubscribe birding-aus" (no quotes, no Subject line) to |
