Hi birders
The time has come when I'm considering buying a scope. I've had the privelege
from time to time of using such lovely scopes as the Swarovski AT80 and Leica
Televid 77. The optics are superb, but they weigh a tonne and I'm looking for
something I can carry around much more easily than that (over long distances
on foot). I'm also well sold on angled rather than straight-through, but that's
a contentious personal matter.
The Kowa TS500 is a very light weight scope with fixed lens (either 20x or
20-40x
zoom), and looks like it might fit the bill. It's also cheap (to contrast with
my expensive binoculars!). I'll be trying some of these out soon, but would
be interested to hear from any users - positive or negative views both welcome.
TIA -- Lawrie
