Subject: Binocular repair question

I have a question for the list regarding repair of binoculars.

I have a pair of (East German) Carl Zeiss 10x40 Notarem bins which appear to
have fungal growth internally on one side. I only noticed this when I used the
bins as a microscope (ie. back to front) yesterday.

Has anyone had a similar lense growth problem and if so, are these things
repairable?

Please advise me directly so we can have more bird postings. I'm hoping to not
have to throw the bins out!
