Reported to Birdline NSW phone 94399536 by H.Roberts and T.Wilson a pair of
Australian Shelducks in the front of the wader hide at Bicentennial Park on
30.12.00. The pair were still present this afternoon amongst several hundred
Grey and mostly Chestnut Teal and a few Hardheads. Bit of a Sydney rarity
for those who might be interested.

Birdline NSW is updated weekly mostly on Mondays or as required as rarities
break. Apart from the shelducks highlights this week include sites to see
Regent Honeyeaters, Superb Parrots, Painted Snipe, Pectoral Sandpiper
amongst others. Please feel free to leave a message with your sightings of
anything you consider unusual. The number again is 9439 9536 and we cover
the entire state. Great to see the Vics are into it now as well. If leaving
a message speak slowly and clearly with as much information on exactly where
you saw the birds preferably with name and contact telephone. Birdline is
the cost of a local call and is supported by the NSW Field Ornithologists,
Cumberland, Hunter and Illawarra Bird Observers Clubs.

Good birding

Dion
