I hear that a Freckled Duck was reported as having been seen at Braeside Park, probably on Boxing Day. Does anyone know, please, if this record has been confirmed and, if so, whether the bird is still there ? I have fond memories of Braeside rarities: a "little ringed plover", confirmed by a second observer, turned out to be a juvenile red-kneed dotterel ? Incidentally the Magpie Goose is still there, almost 2 years since it was first seen on 5/2/99.
