I meant to ask at the time but forgot: the Courier-Mail (Brisbane paper)
for Nov. 17 had an article on Lake Tinaroo (Atherton Tableland, N.
Queensland) on p. 8 of the "Outdoors" supplement, in which it was stated:
"Half-day bird-watching tours cost $165 or $275 for a full day, with
refreshments and guides included."
No other information was given about these tours. The article was mainly
about fishing and reference was made to taking up to four people out on the
lake for fishing. It may be that the $275 bird-watching tour is for four
(or more?) people. Can any one confirm what the situation is?
Even if for four people, $275 per day is a useful addition to the local
economy being generated by the birds, and is a useful figure to have in mind
for supporting nature conservation.
