At this risk of this becoming an exercise in one-upmanship, BBBQs have been present on Fraser Island probably from time immemorial. So that should be at about the easterly limit of their distribution!

 Hi folks,
the most easterly sighting of BBBQ i've ever heard of was in Noosa National Park some years ago.  Apparently, the person even took a photo which is distinct enough to confirm ID.  Cheers,
