1. Give me leeches or ticks anytime over a pissed off taipan, funnel
webs wandering about during breeding season, or a box jellyfish.

2. A good mate of mine had five ticks on his scrotum once after bush
bashing through tea tree scrub up near Port Stephens! Luckily, he was
with a trainee doctor, who dealt with them. They had to use napalm and a
flame thrower!!!!

3. I've found leech bites itch for days after you've got them.

4. Sand flies can be bad at the end of Chiltern Rd. near the Baha'i
temple at Ingleside, Sydney. A pity, because it's a great spot for
Chesnut-rumped Hylacola.

5. Eating lots of garlic is great for keeping mozzies and sand flies at
bay. Sweating garlic keep these insects off your skin. My uncle told me
this when he was shooting a commercial in dense rainforest in Malaysia
or Indonesia.

Cheers,

LGJ.
