I always wear gumboots with the trousers tucked in. When I do find
leeches, I just rub them very fast with my fingers (a bit of soil on the
fingers helps). They soon fall off. Obviously salt would help for more
delicate places.
Steve, I assume Fiona is the friend you mean? If so I'm glad to hear the
owl is back despite the loss of one of the big trees in that area.
Now I know it's totally off topic but there was such a wonderful response
last year - my Aboriginal sisters want to know if anyone wants any mats
or baskets, clap sticks or didgeridoos for Christmas. All the money
raised goes to semi-traditional women and their children.
