John: Thanks for sharing your experience. Since you didn't include an interpretation (grin), am I to assume you were impressed with the Magpie's audacity to jump up on the coffee table or the bird's vocal mimicry? It so happens I am struggling with the huge literature on vocal mimicry in birds ... eventually I hope to write a few articles of the topic.
