The Victorian Minister for Environment and Conservation's Scientific Advisory
Committee has recommended that a nomination for:
                 Victorian temperate-woodland bird community

be listed as a threatened community under the Flora and Fauna Guarantee Act.
The recommendation has been advertised in todays Age and Weekly Times papers
inviting public comment, with submissions closing 1 December 2000.
....
Should list members be interested in obtaining a copy of the four page
recommendation report please contact me directly. I encourage all interested
parties to make a submission.

This is great news - but it may depend in part on the number and quality of the submissions received. Please, Birding-Aus members, if you have any experience or expertise in the area, get in touch with Martin and consider making a submission.
