Hello all, I have received a few more responses to my mystery sandpiper images. This time most of them are opposed to the idea that it is a Broad-billed Sandpiper. Now the general opinion is that it really is a Curlew Sandpiper (probably juv in worn plumage). I will be re-reading all of the comments and making a more detailed comment as soon as possible. Unfortunately, the weather has been a bit rough here for the past couple of days but I will have another look as soon as possible. I'm enjoying this! All you people who have recorded Broad-billed Sandpiper (especially in this part of the world) should be getting a bit worried, I Think, maybe?! :-) Bob Inglis Woody point SEQld, Australia. 27 deg 15min S; 153 deg 5 min E E-mail: WWW: http://www.powerup.com.au/~inglisrc Birding-Aus is on the Web at www.shc.melb.catholic.edu.au/home/birding/index.html To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message "unsubscribe birding-aus" (no quotes, no Subject line) to |
