Whilst on a B.O.C.A outing on Sunday 15 Oct near Nagambie(central Vic) on a swamp adjoining the Goulburn River we observed an immature Banded Stilt amongst a small group of Black-winged Stilts. I was very surprised to see this bird in a freshwater habitat and so far from the coast. Obviously a Lake Eyre bird in transit! Bett Mitchell.
