I'm not sure how common Olive-backed Orioles are in the Melbourne suburbs, but there has been one calling in Valley Reserve, Mount Waverley for a couple of weeks. Could I also make a request about the subject lines. If you read every message on birding-aus then what I'm saying won't really apply. Myself, I only read some of them. All too often, the subject line gives the name of a bird without a location. If it's not in Victoria and isn't very unusual, then it probably isn't of much interest to me. I'd be very grateful if people put the location in the subject line, including the name of a nearby city. Often, I've no idea in which state the bird has been seen.
